# Japanese dictionary example sentences

Individual sentence IDs, original Japanese text and available owner usernames
are retained in examples.sqlite. Each displayed sentence links to its original
page at https://tatoeba.org/en/sentences/show/<sentence_id>.
An owner may have adopted or edited a sentence; the original page records history.
Many Japanese sentences originated in the Tanaka Corpus, donated to the public
domain by Professor Yasuhito Tanaka. This is not a claim that all sentences did.

Changes: select priority examples from JMdict_e_examp, match existing Tomoshi
entry IDs and spelling/reading, verify exact Japanese against the pinned Tatoeba
export, deduplicate by entry/sentence ID, package as SQLite. No text edits,
translations, inferred readings, audio or Tomoshi proprietary examples included.
